Art By Tiana Birrell

Tiana Birrell is an East Coast native, growing up in Berkshire County, MA. She is a multimedia artist working in a variety of mediums including paint, photography, video, performance, and installation. She currently resides in Utah.
She received her MFA from the The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2017 and went on to receive an MS in Environmental Humanities from the University of Utah in 2019. More recently she spent a year as an artist in residence at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art and is currently working with the museum to co-curate Greater Utah, a survey of art in Utah.

Tiana’s work has explored ideas around place and displacement as well as the complex networks around water in the West’s arid climate and the nuanced interactions between humans and non-humans.
